We want to share a bit about our Jamaican Dental Mission experience. . . Made possible by so many of our patients who offered financial support and gifts from the heart – Thank You! This was the 3rd mission of this nature for some of our team!
The people of Ocho Rios, Jamaica and surrounding communities, could not have been more welcoming and appreciative. Our clinic was set up in the gathering room of a church (circa 1832) at Port Maria in Middlesex County.
Along with our team, we had the pleasure of working with, Eronica, a Jamaican student of dentistry (nearing completion of her degree), a very enthusiastic group of 10 dental hygiene students from Florida and 3 other teams all enjoying the gifts of mentoring, mingling and making a difference in over 700 people’s lives. Did I mention we received gifts of overwhelming gratitude, friendships and one love from all we encountered? Although an environment and culture far different from our own, the lessons we took away from this humbling experience are invaluable.
LOOKING FORWARD ~ In the future, we hope to visit other areas where the need for dental care is desperately needed and hopefully re-visit our Jamaican family to follow-up with those we were able to help and who helped us along the way. As you may or may not know, we have also serviced the Seattle and surrounding communities (on more than one occasion) with other providers in a large facility downtown Seattle. Dr. Susan is looking forward to travelling to Africa this spring on a similar venture. Dr. Jim and the entire staff continue to hone their skills in new techniques to help bring more happy smiles to everyone they are blessed to serve.
Thank you all again for your continuing support, for being the inspiration that drives us to new heights in the interest of giving more people the bright smiles that are so well deserved and life-changing. Pay it Forward wherever you can – the rewards are endless. . . the sky is not the limit! The Rosenwald Team Jim, Susan, Donnell, Heidi and Pam
